Dear Colleagues,
As we navigate this rapidly evolving landscape in education and beyond, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the challenges we face and reaffirm CES’ commitment to supporting each of you, as well as the communities and students we serve. CES is an organization whose mission is rooted in fostering lifelong learning and promoting equity and inclusion, even in the most difficult times.
The full impact of the recent and ongoing Executive Orders have yet to be determined, and in the midst of uncertainty, we are working to understand the implications of those orders, the impact they will have on our work, and how best to support staff and those most affected in the communities we serve. We are committed to supporting you with helpful guidance where possible, on what these changes mean for students and educators. Some of the resources we’ve found helpful include:
- The Council of Nonprofits’ chart on executive orders.
- Guidance for K-12 schools on protecting students and their information.
- National Immigration Law Center: Information About the Rescission of Protected Areas Policies.
Please know that as an organization, CES remains dedicated to social justice, equity, and fostering a culture of care. These values are not just words, they are the foundation of everything we do. We are committed to ensuring that our actions reflect these principles as we adapt to the new challenges ahead of us.
Thank you for continuing to make a positive and meaningul impact on the lives of all you serve.
Todd
