Education Ecosystem: to collaborate and partner with others

Goal 3. We will increase the diversity of perspectives informing our work and decision-making. We will do this by:

  • Objective 3.1 Strengthening and expanding relationships with communities that support our work through educational practices and the SJE platform as well as internal programming and external community-run programs.
  • Objective 3.2 Developing structured mechanisms for the input and participation of program recipients, especially people of the global majority, into program design and organizational decision making, in an effort to heed their advocacy to center efforts to dismantle white supremacy culture across organizations and broader systems.
  • Objective 3.3 Being an accessible resource for public advocacy that reflects the community-based work of many departments at CES and our legislative advocacy work on behalf of member districts by providing a unified and shared voice to raise challenges and concerns faced by educators, districts, and community members.

What success looks like:

an ongoing pattern of progress towards more and more inclusion (likely no “done”).

Units of measurement:

number of genuinely novel viewpoints providing input into work and decision-making; increased diversity among staff.

How to conduct measurement:

track the conversations had in the course of making decisions. Do you notice new players continually being invited into the process?

Evidence we are on track:

we are making great decisions, and people have positive experiences being involved in the process of making them.
