SJE Resources

We hope to support developing our individual and collective awareness of social justice issues by providing resources that CES employees can consult and use in our own practice. This site houses resources that can be used as tools to support and develop our individual knowledge, awareness, and skills for building an equitable organization, communities, and schools.

Helpful resources related to Asian Pacific American bias and hate crimes

To understand that the most recent anti-Asian hate crimes are not single events, we must examine the long history and anti-Asian policy and attitudes that are culminating in the mass shooting in Atlanta, and at least 3,800 AAPI hate crimes in the past year. This oppression is intersectional – also targeting women, LGBTQ people, poor people, etc.

There is also a new offering from the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center, “We Are Not a Stereotype: Breaking Down Asian Pacific American Bias.” It is a video series for teachers and caregivers who teach.
